Ultimate X-Men: Ultimate Collection, Book 3
The series continues to impress me with its deft integration of years of past continuity and more realistic characterization of the Marvel universe. I've heard complaints from other comic fans about misguided character changes in the other aspects of Ultimate line-up (the hulking Green Goblin for starters) but I have no real complaints about how they've merged and updated the characters in the X-Men. I was at a point where I needed some fresh perspective and this series provides just that.
This collects the third year of 'Ultimate X-Men' as well as the 'Ultimate War' mini-series.
