Ultimate Spider-Man, Vol. 6
Definitely weird...er.
Weirder, since this is Spider-Man and the Ultimate universe that we're dealing with here. Carnage shows up and three mini-arcs include guest appearances from Wolverine, Johnny Storm, and Dr. Strange even helps Peter fight Nightmare.
The Wolverine two-parter is about as weird as it gets, Bendis was pretty up-front about it though, which helped (I should look it up to see if its even canon).
I liked it though, it was good to have those shorter segments, and with the exception of Nightmare, lighter story lines contrast with what came about with Carnage. And, finally, I got some answers about Flash and Liz. Nothing solved, of course, but steps in the right direction.
